The Wales Council for LGBT people will create an environment for the LGBT third sector to flourish and will champion, develop and support Wales’s diverse LGBT third sector so that all have the capacity, skills and resources to provide effective services to LGBT individuals. The Council will achieve this through working with all LGBT organisations, the Government and other bodies, providing a voice for the sector, maintaining membership, managing data and information, and providing support services. This Council will have a clear focus on strengthening the LGBT Sector both in terms of relationships and also its sustainability, through development workers and shared resources. LGBT people from across Wales will be able to access better justice, advocacy, advice and support as a result, especially those at worse detriment such as young and older LGBT people, transgender people, and those living in rural areas.
