<p>Neither Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger nor Attorney General Jerry Brown have to appeal Judge Vaughn Walker's decision to declare Prop 8 unconstitutional California's 3rd District Court of Appeals has ruled. Supporters of Prop 8 had hoped to force the state to appeal the ruling, but so far, no one has been willing to. The Pacific Justice Institute had hoped that they could force these two to appeal the ruling since it is quite possible that the groups which Judge Walker allowed to argue in defense of Prop 8 may not have any legal standing to appeal the ruling. <p>Christine M. Judd is not the only open lesbian to lose her job over her sexual orientation. Christine Evans also lost her job. She was suddenly let go from her position as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University-Commerce. According to the student newspaper, some are questioning whether or not Evans' being openly lesbian was the reason why she was let go.</p> more...
<p>Massachusetts may approve of same-sex marriage, but the Roman Catholic Church does not, and it emphatically does not. This is why Christine M. Judd is no longer the athletic director and dean of students at Cathedral High School. Judd married her wife back in August, and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield did not approve. Thus, they did their best to force her to leave. Judd stated of her departure "I was given a choice of termination or resignation. I'm hurt, but I wish the best for Cathedral, its students, the parents, the athletic teams, administration and faculty. I bleed purple." Purple is the school's color.</p> more...
