Sexual Orientation – The Business Case


This practical course aims to give senior managers and leaders an understanding of the important legislative changes around sexual orientation in the workplace through interactive delivery. The course will explore the definition of sexual orientation and the types of issues faced by people who identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual but will focus specifically at the implications that these issues could bring to the organisation. You will develop your people and performance management skills and learn about how current legislation and regulations affect you, both as an individual and your organisation.

The course covers the following legislations:
Definition of Sexual Orientation
Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003
Civil Partnership Act 2005
Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) 2007

As a result of completing this course you will be better able to effectively make the changes that your organisation needs to become a more diverse, sustainable and successful. It also help the organisation to deliver better value to their customers or service users through developing goods, facilities, and services that not only do not discriminate against LGB people, but also target them as a profitable and important market.
