LGBT Awareness within Housing
There are many types of housing issues that LGBT people can encounter. These could include:
Harassment in or around the home and negative reactions, actions and attitudes of other people
Insensitive allocation of housing
Service providers unaware of recent legislative changes and protections, meaning they are unable to fully support or empower LGBT clients.
Lack of monitoring and evaluation of the needs LGB people, meaning that an accurate picture of access is difficult to gauge and needs can be misdiagnosed or not addressed.
This training will help the staff of housing providers to meet the needs of LGBT people who are applying for housing or experiencing housing problems.
The training session will feature group and individual tasks as well as trainer-led presentations. Subject modules can be tailored to suit participants and organisations, i.e.: Older persons’ services, mental health.

Various throughout Wales and the UK. It can also be delivered as in-house opportunity for groups of 8 or more.
