There are always a lot of ways for you to get involved with and help the LGBT Excellence Centre Wales:
Helpline Counsellor – offering help and advice to the LGBT community during the evenings, by telephone, email, chat, text, or online.
Office Administration – working in our office doing administrative work, dealing with post, filing, monitoring the press, mail-outs, database management, research surveys, and other office tasks
Legal PROBONO – join our always-growing directory of solicitors and barristers that want to develop their portfolio with sexual orientation and gender identity expertise.
Associates – promote your skills, experience, and expertise as a professional to businesses that are looking for consultants and experts in many fields.
Trainer – Get involved with delivering our internal and external training programmes, developing relevant training courses, or even bring along your own training packages for you to promote
Face-to-face Counselling – join our list of qualified counsellors and therapists and help us to provide our FREE counselling service to LGBT communities throughout Wales.
Design work – help us design anything from articles to promotional material both in hard copy and for our website. This could involve designing reports, posters, guides, publications, newsletters, promotional postcards, and website design.
Directory – indexing goods, facilities, products, services, and resources available to and for LGBT people in Wales and the UK and helping with the promotion of the directory to potential advertisers including the development of a referral system.
Events and Fundraising – help us collect charitable contributions from the public either by bucket rattling, organising an event, selling raffle tickets, promoting our donations web pages, hosting a party, running a marathon, helping us over Prides and Mardi Gras, assisting us at workshops and conferences, and many more! You can also join our Pink Pound Wales project to bring in funds for the Excellence Centre and create your own employment!
Consultation – letting your views known to policy makers and other organisations in the public sector who value the contribution of LGBT people in the development of a better future for people in Wales.
Modelling/PR work – to help us in promoting relevant projects, activities, and campaigns. This varies from taking part in photo shoots and video work with our photographers and camera operators to simply networking with other people in the community, at venues, online (ie on facebook and chat rooms) – get yourself noted!
Journalism – there are many ways in which you can get involved and get your work read by our supporters: these include writing various articles and press releases for our websites and affiliates, reporting on our community and business events, research articles into various issues faced by LGBT people, writing novels and short stories, getting involved in creative writing with our theatre projects, and helping others with written submissions to our projects.
Photography – submitting your own work as well as becoming involved in many various projects to capture artistic and/or factual visual record of our activities to promote our work
