The Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 2000 states that the minimum age of consent for gay (male) sex is 16.
Schools need to be aware of LGBT issues and offer support and guidance. Schools need to adapt equal opportunity policies and promote equality for staff, students, parents and Governors.
The Law states that it is unlawful to discriminate against a person on grounds of sexual orientation or perceived sexual orientation (see Discrimination Law section)
